I will write down some practical information for the ones coming.
Adress:
odinsvei 41
3472 Bødalen
Norge (doh)
If you are driving from Sweden you will take off road 23 and will coem to a loooong tunnel. If you miss this it means a loong detour around oslo. Check map link for map.
Map on where to take of for shortcut to tunnel
What to bring?
1. Sleeping bag and something soft to lay on.
2. If you come from sweden/denmark bring alchohol and try and take orders for others aswell. AND DONT GET STOPPED IN CUSTOMS!!!
I will make a grocery list for hefaistos and Co. I suggest that we make them buy in food on the border. Then we split the bill amongst us. My estimate is 200kr/person.
I will make pizza on friday evening. On saturday we will have a lunsj and at evening we will BBQ. Home made burgers (was a sucess from last year).
I know I will ask the guys to buy 2x 24fl beers for me.
If you are clown candidate bring bathing cloths.
Well that is about it.
there is 4 bedrooms and possibility to sleep in living room sofa also.
Master bedroom will me for me and miss hefaistos.
2 guestrooms have sleepingsofa. I also have one portable bed (teltseng). Rest will be stocked in height in the rooms.
my phonenumber is +4793610990
I have all friday off and miss Berg and Lukas will be home to 19:00. Iam hoping for them to get a chance to meet you guys. But my guess is that you will not make it to 19:00. [1milj peebrakes]...
I also have monday off so if someone does not wanna leave on sunday that is fine Miss Berg is back on monday

So what are the rules concerning customs?
I believe we have a loophole here in DK, that says "for personal use" when it comes to beer atleast...

The "personal use" you mentioned is, as far as I know, only valid between two EU-countries..
I found this:
Varetype Mengde
Brennevin/sprit o.l. over 22 % 1 liter
Vin o.l. mellom 4,7 % og 22 % 1,5 liter
Øl, rusbrus o.l. inntil 4,7 % 2 liter
Sigaretter eller annen tobakk 200 stk eller 250 gram
Sigarettpapir 200 stk

I say we all agree on that if you get stuck with something I asked you to buy we share.
Meaning if my 48 bottles get stuck in custom I have to pay for them anyhow.
Just dont get caught!!!

What would happen if we get caught with a car full of beer and cheese?
A slap on the wrist? A hefty fine to pay? A full cavity search?

I agree LOL @ Rusbrus haha
and the meat should not be a problem since we gonna be 5 persons atleast in the minibuss, that should mean we without problems could bring 25kilo cheese and 25 kilo of meet.

An Brilliant idea from my part is...
""""let the candidates bring the alcoholic potions across the boarder!"""
If they fail. They automaticly get kicked from the guild !!!!!!!!

I'd like to suggest we take a little sightseeing-trip into the woods and get off the big road before the border crossing..
A friend of mine told me that there are plenty of small roads without customs. At these roads they only do spot-checks but keep no constant guard. So even if that would be a bit farther and longer time, it might be worth it.. We could probably find a good route using google maps or something, I've looked around and seen a few possible routes. The standards of these roads are likely "not great", but anything for beer, eh?
Does anyone know any routes that are better/worse to use?

All I can picture right now is some banjo playing local trying to sell us a canoe for a 'safe' border crossing.
We can send Hef into the woods to create a diversion while we charge the road block in our van....oh dear oh dear!

Anyone knows what penalties/fines to expect ?
Tbh i am not fond of trying to smuggle too much across the border, when we dont know what to expect - and a van with danish numberplates, containing 5 youngsters with AC-DC shirts *points at Hef* is guaranteed to be pulled aside by the customs ...
How much do a sixpack of beer cost at the supermarket in Norway ?

To much way to much......
and i must say that i prefer to cross the border at the main road, even if they have controls theres a little chance that we will get thorugh okay, but if we cross the border on some small weird smuggler route in the woods we are very much likely to get busted like hell if theres someone there watching it.

I'd say that the main border crossing is way more risky... It's like Saxon says.. A van with danish plates and five guys in it.. That's like begging to be stopped. According to my "source", the smaller roads are near risk free.. I wouldn't swear by that, but I am prepared to believe it.
But I would also say that the driver is the one who decides. If Saxon says only legal amounts of beer, I will comply, 100%.

I went across today and there was control. Friday-sunday is a 80% chance of control.
If you take the old bridge road you are down to about 20%. Tgen after you crossed you follow the signs back to E6. This part is crucial. If not you risk ending up in 2nd control point. So if you take old bridge then first chance toget back to E6 you will come out 100m behind the checkpoint on the new road. That means you actually get to see if you would have been checked.
If they have control you will 100% be checked. My stepfather have one of them lorries/vans and he get stopped almost everytime.
Good luck!

Just read that in Norway, beer and "rusbrus" less than 5% alcohol is sold in regular grocery stores (unlike in Sweden).
The prices I've previously checked at Vinmonopolet.no are supposed to be way higher than in the shops.. Around 13 NOK for a 33cl 4,5% beer is what I've come up with.. Even tho that's not cheap, it's not THAT extreme either..
So let's see.. 33cl for 13 NOK is aproximately 15.5 SEK (or 11 DKK)..
Cheapest beer in Sweden is around 10 SEK for 50cl.. 5,2%
Without accounting for the difference in percent, that means that the Norwegian-bought beer is twice the price of Swedish.. Is it worth worrying about customs to save a few hundred SEK (or DKK)? I'd be happy bringing my 5 liters of rusbrus and buying the rest in Norway.
Just my two cents.

I'd rather bring some serious booze instead of swapping it for beer, and then 11 bottles of bear or so. What a lame policy....
Also, wireless suck ass when playing wow, in my experience atleast. 1 package lost (I think) and disc.

I will meet your spineless chickens on the boarder.
I will scout the boarder on the way down to you (in mexico) Prounoused MEKKIKO.
So I will spot any control. Then on our way home I will drive couple of minutes before you guys and again see if any control. So.. there we are.
Now buy 1milj beers!!!
Also. This little plan will reduce my chance to have food ready for you. So I will order in some discounted pizzas for us instead. They are about 150krinsh each and is easily for 2 persons. So that is not all that bad Iam like their cousin.. (the mouslim pizza italians/turk/pakistaniens... Marsians??)
So all in for this plan??
I will order 2x24 33cl 4,5%.
Thanks!

Sorry for not picking up the phone when you called today Ulf - was at work ...
I can only speak for myself about "smuggling", and it's not because im a saint , but tbh personally i can not afford to be charged a fine for trying to bring in too much beer - my summer vacation would be in danger if so
In Denmark you will have to give up the goods you try to smuggle + you get to pay the tax and vat for the value of the goods in stores in Denmark + you get a fine for trying to smuggle ... And + you get another LARGE fine for smuggling, if you did not voluentering to contact the customs when entering the country yourself ...
If the rules is similar in Norway, i will not smuggle for sure !

I would like to make a special thanks to Ulf Berg, for hosting the meeting this weekend ...
You really made us all feel welcome and relaxed, and it seemed everyone had a blast ! Also the surroundings and planning was so great.
Also i once again will say, that our three students, who's now clowned, really impressed me. Even though they had a rough day, more hard than it was planned for them to be, they took everything with a smile
Gratz guys - i am proud of you !
And thanks to everyone attending at Ulf's place - was great to meet all of you, and i hope to see each and everyone next time !

So do we need to let anyone know that we have re-taken the island?
